2021: It all began with a food blog during Covid

During Covid, our founder Jovel started a food blog from her apartment, sharing stories of local craft discoveries—from beer and chocolate to kombucha, coffee, gin, and rhum.

With dining out off-limits, these became her small luxuries and sparked her passion for Vietnam’s craft food and drink scene.

2022: Interest around Vietnam’s food and drink craft products picked up around the world

By late 2022, global interest in Vietnamese coffee, chocolate, and the country’s vibrant culture was on the rise. At the same time, our founder’s blog posts on chocolate, coffee, and craft liquor shot to the top of Google, becoming her most-read stories.

2023: Saigon Supperclub, Vietnam’s food and drink community, was born

In late 2023, Jovel founded Saigon Supperclub—a food and drink community in Ho Chi Minh City—driven by a desire to bring people together and spotlight Vietnam’s vibrant dining scene, local craft products, and tastemakers.

From farmhouse dinners to wine cellars and private restaurants, each gathering was thoughtfully paired with local craft spirits, chocolate, and the stories of the makers behind them.

2024/25: A home for food lovers in Saigon
(and beyond)

The right opportunity came along, and Saigon Social was born in the heart of District 1—a space to call home for the foodie community, local artisans, and tastemakers.

Built on the same mission, Saigon Social wants to be a go-to destination for food and drink discovery, appreciation, and storytelling, shining a light on Vietnam’s vibrant local food and drink scene.
